Professor Welkowitz Publishes Journal Article

Every fashionista knows that a high-heeled shoe with a deep red sole usually signifies the shoe is by Christian Louboutin. Louboutin recently sued competitor Yves St. Laurent, claiming infringement on its trademark red sole. Whittier Law School Professor David Welkowitz addresses the issue in his article, “The Mark of Color in Fashion: One Shoe, Two Shoes, Red Soles, Blue Competitors” which appeared February 14 in the Daily Journal. The court recently ruled in favor of St. Laurent, and Professor Welkowitz explains why he feels the district judge’s ruling was corrrect.
