Where do you see the practice area today and where do you see it in the future?
I see the practice of family law in its late adolescence to young adulthood stage today. In the past, and only until the Elkins Commission was appointed, family law was treated as a sub-practice area that many practitioners used as an ‘add-on’ to their practice. I see family law burgeoning into an elite area of law due to its multifaceted components that comprise family law such as custody, support, property division, business valuation, domestic violence and tax.
