Class of 2006
Principal at Law Offices of Shane Loomis, Westlake Village, CA
Where do you see the practice area today and where do you see it in the future?
Given current economic conditions, there a huge number of employment law cases. However, the recent growth of wage and hour class action cases was not about the specific needs of individual employees. The extraordinary loss of jobs in this country has pushed individuals, who historically have planned to work the entire careers as employees, to pursue opportunities to start their own businesses or to pursue alternative business relationships, such as independent contractor relationships. These changes present a huge number of challenges and opportunities for businesses, for workers, and for lawyers engaged in employment law.
