Question 1

How long have you been involved with Family/Children’s Rights Law and what made you initially interested in this area?

As a former high school teacher, I came to law school very interested in children’s rights law; particularly the areas of education and special education law. While a law student I worked as an advocate in the Special Education division of the Children’s Rights Clinic. As an advocate I provided direct representation to children seeking special education services. Also during law school, I took a course in family law and found it fascinating. From that point forward, I took every opportunity presented to me to further my knowledge and skills in the area of child and family law. I published a student law review article on the subject of second-parent adoption as well.
