Radha Pathak, Associate Dean for Student and Alumni Engagement at Whittier Law School, has been named a recipient of the 2017 California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year (CLAY) Award.
Dean Pathak was honored for her work on a Supreme Court case that dealt with whether a health benefit plan can recover settlement funds from a beneficiary.
“The decision … was an important victory for individuals who have obtained tort settlements and used those much-needed funds to pay for basic living expenses like food, rent and child care,” Dean Pathak told California Lawyer.
