The team of James Drake IV and Mykhal Ofili recently won the Western Regional competition of the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition, which is operated by the National Black Law Students Association. James Drake IV is also the President of the Student Bar Association at Whittier Law School.
Seven teams competed from law schools including USC, UC Davis, UC San Diego, and Santa Clara Law. The team for Whittier Law School took the top honors in the three-day competition, held in January in Sacramento.
Said Mykhal, “We want to show people that Whittier Law School does a fabulous job of preparing its students to go out and practice. We won over a lot of big name schools, and let our hard work and performance do the talking.”
