“Judicial intervention into the lives of pregnant women treads on hard-fought sacred ground that should evoke a high degree of scrutiny. In the case of Baby Miller-McKenna, the New York court’s maltreatment of the pregnant petitioner displayed a worrying lack of understanding of the liberty that women enjoy, even while temporarily tethered to another life.”
