Federal Income Taxation

Rachel A. Simon is a partner in the Corporate & Tax Section at Rutan & Tucker, LLP, where she provides sophisticated legal services in the areas of business, tax, and estate and succession planning.

Ms. Simon represents taxpayers in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service, the California Franchise Tax Board, and the California State Board of Equalization.

Ms. Simon also represents clients in all aspects of business law, including mergers, acquisitions, acquisition financings, asset-based credit facilities, debt restructurings, securities offerings, and entity formations. These transactions have included companies in the real estate development, manufacturing, health care, technology, and wholesale food industries.

Prior to joining Rutan & Tucker, Ms. Simon worked in the corporate and tax department of Gartenberg Gelfand Wasson & Selden, LLP. Ms. Simon is also an adjust professor at Whittier Law School, where she teaches Federal Income Taxation.
