A pioneer in online legal education, Sara Berman has been a professor of law since 1998. Professor Berman came to Whittier Law School as a Visiting Assistant Professor in 2011, and has been teaching Legal Analysis Workshop and working with Professor Tina Schindler in Bar Support.
Sara Berman is a graduate of the UCLA School of Law. Her courses include criminal law and procedure, torts, contracts, business associations, remedies, and community property, as well as legal analysis, writing, study skills and bar exam success seminars. Professor Berman has lectured nationwide for a number of commercial bar reviews for more than two decades, preparing students for both substantive and skills portions of the bar exam. Along with UCLA Law Professor Paul Bergman, Berman co-authored The Criminal Law Handbook: Know Your Rights, Survive the System, and Represent Yourself in Court: How to Prepare and Try a Winning Case, both published by http://www.nolo.com –and both of which are excellent introductory resources for law students who want to learn more about civil litigation and about the criminal justice system. Berman has also published numerous articles and study guides, and she blogs regularly about law school and bar exam success. This Fall, the ABA will publish a bar exam preparation text Professor Berman has recently authored, along with a companion teacher’s edition manual.
