Ryan Baron is a senior deputy in the County Counsel’s office for the County of Orange, where he advises the Board of Supervisors and various agencies on energy and gas, communications law, infrastructure, water quality regulation and climate change. He offers strategic counsel on project development, utility and environmental issues, and advises on and appears before a number of federal and state regulatory agencies. He previously practiced with Kellogg, Huber, Hansen, Todd, Evans & Figel, a Washington D.C. law firm, where he focused on telecommunications litigation and worked in several countries on a federal investigation of the world’s largest oilfield services company.
During law school, Mr. Baron was a law clerk and junior lobbyist for the Global Government Relations Office of Nortel Networks. He also was a legal intern at the Federal Communications Commission for Commissioner Gloria Tristani and for the Strategic Analysis and Negotiations Division of the International Bureau. Mr. Baron graduated from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law where he was a graduate of its Communications Law Institute and Editor-in-Chief of the CommLaw Conspectus: Journal of Communications Law & Policy. He graduated with distinction from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, and was a varsity member of the debate team.
