Peter Schneider is Chief Health Sciences Counsel at UC Irvine, advising the components of the UCI Health System, including UCI Medical Center, UCI Medical Group, and the administration and faculty of the School of Medicine. He was licensed to practice law in California in 1984 and has been representing physicians, hospitals and health care entities in California ever since.
Peter joined the University’s Office of the General Counsel in Oakland in 1999, where he provided legal oversight of the University of California’s professional liability program and litigation. In June 2001, he joined UC Irvine as its first campus based health care attorney. He is a graduate of the University of California, Riverside (B.A. 1981) and the University of San Diego School of Law (J.D. 1984).
