Honorable Judge Jonathan Fish has served as a judge of the Superior Court of California in the County of Orange since 2008. He currently runs a felony court at the North Justice Center in Fullerton, California.
Judge Fish graduated from Claremont McKenna College in 1991. He then participated in the Teach for America program for two years as a teacher in the Houston Independent School District. He graduated from California Western School of Law in December of 1995 and began a career as a prosecutor in June of 1996.
In over twelve years as a deputy district attorney he specialized in Major Narcotic and Gang Prosecution. As a trial lawyer, he prosecuted everything from general misdemeanors and felonies to methamphetamine laboratories and gang murders. In his tenure at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, he was cited by state and county law enforcement associations as the “Prosecutor of the Year” and received accolades from the DEA and Orange County Human Relations. The voters of Orange County elected him to the bench in the 2008 June primary election and he received an interim gubernatorial appointment in November of 2008.
