Dear Whittier Law School Alumni,
Greetings from the Whittier Law School Alumni Association and Acting Dean Martin Pritikin! We hope you will attend the Alumni Awards and Reunion Reception, which will take place on the evening of Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in beautiful Long Beach, California.
We are excited as the Law School moves forward with the launch of its “Experience the Law” curriculum, which was not only named the 6th Most Innovative Curriculum by National Jurist Magazine, but has also helped Whittier recently earn national recognition as one of the “Top Schools” for practical skills. We are also planning several initiatives designed to further increase our graduates’ bar passage rates and to raise Whittier’s profile within the local legal community and the legal community at large. The Alumni Association has jumped on board with this initiative with a pilot launch of the Alumni Bar Prep Mentorship Program for the February 2014 bar exam.
This is a very exciting time for the school, but in order for these and other new initiatives to be successful, we need your help. A critical marker of success for any law school is not only the amount of donations received from alumni, but also the percentage of alumni who donate. A donation of any size can make a huge impact on the Law School’s already bright future and your donation may be tax deductible.
We have more great news. You now have the option to make a one-time or recurring contribution to your alma mater by simply clicking on the following link: https://www.law.whittier.edu/index/connect/alumni/giving/online-giving.
To encourage a culture of giving back, the Alumni Association is issuing a “10/20/30” challenge to all alumni to give a recurring monthly donation in the amount of $10, $20 or $30, or any other amount. You can choose to give to any area that is meaningful to you, including the Alumni Scholarship Fund, the new Kiesel Advocacy Center, or one of the Law School’s outstanding Centers or Institutes. Please encourage members of your class year to take the challenge.
We look forward to your participation in the success of the Law School and we wish you a happy and prosperous year.
On behalf of the Executive Board of the Whittier Law School Alumni Association, I thank you for your continued assistance to, and interest in our school.
