Project HEAL (Health, Education, Advocacy, and Law) a medical-legal partnership within the Maryland Center for Developmental Disabilities at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, Maryland was named a “2012 Program of Excellence” by the Jackson Healthcare Charitable Service Awards Program. Project HEAL is one of 10 honorees selected from 198 nominations from 41 states. Each nominee had to demonstrate excellence in the following five criteria areas: community impact, innovation, collaboration, transferability, and best practice. The 10 programs each received a $10,000 check to support their good works in the community. The Director of Project HEAL is a former Equal Justice Works fellow and graduate of the Whittier Law School Class of 2005.
