Aastha Madaan ‘12

What do you do at your job?
“I am a solo practitioner with my own law firm. I practice in the areas of estate planning and business law, with an emphasis on franchise law. I spend quite a bit of time networking, but also spend a lot of time with my clients.”

What excites you most about your job?
“I love interacting with my clients. Getting to know clients, and being able to help them, is my favorite part about being a lawyer and being a solo practitioner.”

How did your experience at Whittier Law School prepare you for this position?
“Whittier Law School gave me all the tools to succeed, but also constantly taught me that I need to take the initiative to achieve my goals. Now, I can still count on Whittier Law School to give me the resources, but know that it is up to me to utilize those resources fully in order to be a successful attorney.”

Do you have any advice for those seeking employment in your industry?
“Count on yourself! Initiative and a drive to succeed are the two pieces of advice I would give to any new attorneys. We are a part of one of the most competitive professions in the country, so you’ll have to put the time and take the initiative to network, apply for jobs, and seek opportunities. Opportunities rarely knock at anyone’s doors. You have to go look for them!”
