Entering students – prepare for the coming year!
Join us for a free, intensive two-day program that will give you specific, practical information about what to expect, and what you need to know to succeed, in your first year at Whittier Law School. This is an optional two-day program which will be very valuable to you in your first year.
- Learn how to perform your best, right from week one, with guidance from Whittier’s Academic Support Program (ASP).
How do you handle the copious homework assignments? How do you know what the professor will put on the exam? Professor Bill MacDonald and Professor Maysa Nichter will explain what you need to know as you begin your law school experience, and will help you map out and achieve a series of milestone goals throughout your first semester to get yourself fully prepared to excel on your midterm tests, legal writing assignments, and final examinations.
- Graduating from law school, passing the bar, taking your first job as a lawyer – you should work on achieving those goals starts now.
We will teach you how to make the most the Whittier Law community and the many resources it has to offer, and show you how to begin thinking ahead – and “thinking like a lawyer” – from your very first reading assignment through the day you are sworn in as an attorney.
Classes are held from 10 am-3 pm, which a one-hour break for lunch. It’s also a great chance to get to know your classmates as you start the year. Please join us for this free program.
