City: Nanjing, China
Join us in the city of Nanjing, the historic former capital of China. Nanjing blends the history and culture of ancient China with the economic strength of modern China, in a beautiful setting near the inspiring Purple Mountains. Nanjing is located in Eastern China on the Yangtze River and approximately 200 miles west of Shanghai. Nanjing is the capital city of the Jiangsu Province and is a famous ancient capital of 10 dynasties. It was named Nanjing during the Ming dynasty, yet it is a modern and romantic city. Top attractions include the Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, Purple Mountains, the Qinhuai River, and the Memorial Hall to the victims in the Nanjing Massacre.
The program also includes three days in Beijing with a guided tour of the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Tiananmen Square.
