Peter Valert '93 has been appointed managing partner of the Prague office of the international law firm DLA Piper. Valert, 46, previously served as a partner and head of the firm’s technology, media and commercial practice in Central and Eastern Europe. Valert also helped establish and lead DLA Piper’s office in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Valert specializes in the areas of telecom and media law, commercial law, intellectual property and IT law, public procurement law and also has experience with international arbitration and mergers and acquisitions. He has also worked as a legal adviser to the Foreign Affairs Ministry and at the Prague office of CMS Cameron McKenna.
