News Subject: Faculty Vote Changes to the JD Program
I am happy to announce that the faculty approved two significant changes in the Law School's program. Beginning in the fall 2008, the Law School will host a Trial and Appellate Practice Institute. The Institute will offer the courses, instruction, and experiential learning necessary for practice as a trial and appellate attorney. The courses will be staffed by experienced full-time professors and well-known and successful judges and practitioners from Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Many of our 4,500 alums will participate through lectures, summer employment, and mentorships. I am very excited by this new opportunity to prepare our students for the successful practice of law. In addition, the faculty approved a change in the requirements for graduation, allowing students at least 34 units for specialization, variety, and enrichment in their course selection. Neil H. Cogan
