All students will have the ability to join the Kaiser Permanente Student Health Plan beginning July 1st. Kaiser Permanente is one of the leading health care providers in California. You will be able to choose a personal primary care physician and have access to high-quality care and online health and wellness services. Additionally, Kaiser has facilities near our campus. You will be able to enjoy competitive premiums that are available to the students of Whittier Law School. This HMO plan provides comprehensive and continuous coverage that lasts year round. The plan is not just for you, but also for your dependents. For an additional cost, you can cover a spouse, registered domestic partner, and/or your children.
All students must enroll in the Kaiser Permanente Student Health Plan, unless they can show proof of other health insurance coverage that they will maintain. If that is the case, it will be necessary for you to opt out of the Plan. If you are enrolled in the plan, you will receive a separate bill from the carrier. It is included in your cost of living calculations (student coverage only).
Enrollment in the Kaiser Student Plan is easy. The following is the link to either enroll or waive coverage:

The Dental Plan is voluntary and may be added by visiting: http://www.dentalclubone.com/whittiercollege.aspx
Should you or your dependents have questions, please contact Intercare’s Member Service Center at (866) 999-8442. The student call center is available from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., PST (Monday – Friday).
All Law Student Division Members of the ABA enrolled in law school for a minimum of eight credit hours at an ABA-approved law school are eligible to enroll in Plan I (Preferred Provider) or Plan II. Eligible Dependents and Sole Domestic Partners of students enrolled in the plan may also participate in the plan.
Coverage is effective on the date your premium and application are received by the insurance company. As long as you meet the eligibility requirements you will be accepted in the plan. There are no health questions. Your cancelled check or charge authorization is your receipt of premium payment. An I.D. card will be sent to you as confirmation of payment as well.
NOTE: You can continue the ABA/LSD Student Health and Accident Insurance Plan for up to one full year after your graduation date from law school, provided there is no break in coverage.
