Q&A with Edwin Egelsee

I chose Whittier because of the Center for Children’s Rights program. Being part of this program paved the road to important opportunities. For instance, as a CCR fellow I had the opportunity to get a summer externship with the Presiding Judge of Juvenile Courts in 1998. I worked under the supervision of an attorney named Laura Holztman. In 2003, I applied to The Alliance for Children’s Rights to head their special education project, Laura was the Senior Attorney with the Alliance at the time. She took part in the decision to extend and employment offer to me. The Alliance was such an important and educational opportunity that was the springboard to start my own practice. Being a student of Whittier and being a part of CCR program allowed for these opportunities that have shaped my career.
