Deborah Forman
Professor of Law
Whittier Law School
How long have you been involved with Family/Children’s Rights Law and what made you initially interested in this area?
I became interested in family law and children’s issues while in law school. I enjoyed the basic Family Law class and participated in a wonderful interdisciplinary seminar on Child Custody. After law school, I joined the Los Angeles Barrister’s Committee on Children’s rights, and I handled some pro bono matters related to children and families. When I began at Whittier, I taught a Constitutional Law seminar on the right of privacy that dealt with many Family Law related matters, and I have been teaching Family Law since 1991.
