Q&A with Denny Haythorn

Although many schools may list Admiralty or Maritime Law as a course, few regularly offer it as an elective. Fewer still teach a course in Aviation Law. These are important subject areas to us in Southern California where a great part of our economy rests on international trade. The combined ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach are the largest in the country. Los Angeles is a gateway city of air travel, especially to Asia and the Pacific. Air cargo involves a large portion of the flights into the area’s many airports. Although few of our graduates work directly for a trading company or airline, nearly everyone will have a client who moves goods by air or sea. It is critical they can advise their clients to contract for the risks involved.
