Associate Dean for Library and Information Services, Professor of Law
Whittier Law School
How have you brought this practice area to WLS?
Over the years I have been able take personal interests and combine them with my academic and professional work. My experiences with contracts in the law firm, the law library, and the Air Force helped prepare me for teaching the various business courses, as well as, Administrative Law. My continuing boating activities provide a basis of real world experiences for my course in Admiralty Law. My Aviation Law Course is a combination all these interests. By having practical experiences from my work in the Air Force, a very complex administrative agency, reviewing complex contracts, and maritime activities I can add to my students understanding of the courses I teach and speak about that part of the profession. I have found that my life experiences provide a tremendous advantage in my teaching and that my teaching informs my library work. I am involved with several maritime and aviation law associations.
