This practice area is one of the major areas of the law today, and it is constantly evolving. Even the definitions of “family” itself have evolved and will continue to do so as new societal concepts and technologies continue to affect families. Thus, the practice of law will continue to evolve in ways that reflect current thinking and in ways that we have yet to imagine, just as our forefathers could not have imagined that one day we would have reproductive technologies that would even challenge the concept of how we define parents. It is a fascinating area of the law that will continue to confront new frontiers.
