Professor Treiman graduated from U.C.L.A. magna cum laude in 1968 and Harvard Law School cum laude in 1971.
He served as a Congressional Intern while in college and a United Nations Intern while in law school. After receiving his law degree he clerked for United Stated District Judge Wm. Matthew Byrne for two years. During those two years Judge Byrne presided over the criminal prosecution relating to the Pentagon Papers.
Professor Treiman taught in the clinical and writing programs at UCLA School of Law for two years and then taught for six years at the University of Tulsa College of Law. Professor Treiman began teaching at Whittier Law School in 1981. He has taught 16 courses and has a primary interest in public law, including Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, The United States Legal System, and Local Government Law.
