Now is the time for Whittier Law School to fulfill its potential and achieve the excellence to which we all aspire. We need everyone’s participation in order to achieve our goals. In addition to your help in spreading the good word about Whittier and assisting us in the development of opportunities for our students, Whittier Law School needs your financial support.
Gifts to the Whittier Law School Annual Fund provide an immediate infusion to the most pressing needs of the school including clinical programs, technology and campus enhancement, international programs, and alumni engagement. 100% of donations go into a Law School account. The only manager is the Dean of the Law School. The accounts are not part of any Whittier College operational budget so the money stays at the end of each year and rolls over.
It is important for each Alumni to consider supporting the Law School. One of the metrics that is used to establish the tier ranking of the Law School is the number of individual donors that give to the school. Thus, any amount you can contribute to the School not only helps the school financially, but can also improve the School’s ranking, something that is good for all alumni. Accordingly, the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association urge you to give what you can, in any amount.
Your contribution may qualify for tax purposes as a charitable contribution, and can be directed to a specific scholarship, activity or center within the School. For example, I directed my donation to the Center for Intellectual Property Law. Such a donation can only be used by the Law School as you direct. Please join me, and the rest of the Board of the Alumni Association in supporting our school.
On Behalf of the Executive Board,
John Fitzgerald
Treasurer
