Students engage in extensive client interaction and case responsibility while advocating on behalf of minor children and their caregivers. Students are introduced to a wide variety of cases filed in Orange County Family Law and Probate Courts including guardianship, adoption, limited conservatorship of developmentally disabled adult children, paternity, dissolution of marriage, custody and support.
The Clinic’s newest project involves Special Immigrant Juvenile Status cases which will give students the opportunity to follow a case through both state and immigration courts. Students also participate in the court-based Guardianship Clinic and the Self-Represented Parties Court.
