The Whittier Law School Center for Intellectual Property Law (CIPL) provides students with the academic instruction and practical skills to meet the needs of clients of the future. Intellectual Property encompasses such areas as Patent Law, Trademark Law, Copyright Law, Rights of Publicity and Trade Secret Law.

The field underlies the economy of our times domestically and internationally. Nearly every field of business has intellectual property needs: selecting and protecting trademarks, facilitating and ensuring the value of creative works, and getting the most out of innovation. Whittier’s program prepares students for careers in many areas of law, including entertainment law, high-tech law, internet law.
