Disability Accommodations
Whittier Law School’s policy and practice is to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Qualified students who have disabilities shall be given reasonable accommodations, including academic adjustment and auxiliary aids, where appropriate, necessary to ensure access to the school’s overall educational program. The Law School campus is entirely handicapped accessible and meets with all ADA standards.
The Assistant Dean of Student Advising is
available to answer questions regarding disability support
services (714/444-4141). Students wishing to request accommodations
should meet with the Assistant Dean of Student Advising. In
addition, students should submit an application for Academic
Adjustments/Auxiliary Aids Request form and provide documentation
of disability. Students are encouraged to initiate their request
as early as possible to allow adequate time to review requests
and documentation and make proper arrangements.
A student with a physical disability must provide documentation by a licensed physician, psychiatrist, psychologist, audiologist, speech pathologist, rehabilitation counselor, physical therapist, occupational therapist, or other professional health care provider who is qualified in the diagnosis of the disability. The documentation must provide data that reflects the student’s present condition of his or her disability and support the request for the particular academic adjustment(s) sought.
