The Institute for Student and Graduate Academic Support

We will help you succeed in Law School!

The Academic Success Program provides a number of academic support programs for students of varying needs, including a Summer Program for admittees who have overcome significant obstacles in achieving an education, a full-year first-year program emphasizing study skills and exam-taking skills for all first-year students, individual one-on-one academic counseling sessions, and an Early Bar Preparation Program.

If you have any questions about any aspect of the Academic Success Program, please feel free to call 714-444-4141 x.230, or stop by, or e-mail me at mmainero@law.whittier.edu. I would be delighted to assist you in any way I can.

Professor Mario Mainero
Associate Dean for Student and Graduate Academic Support and Director of Academic Success

The Whittier Law School Academic Success Program's Early Bar Prep Program begins Saturday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mock Bar Exam, and Sunday, September 12 at 10:00 a.m. with lectures by Prof. Mainero (Introduction to the California Bar Exam) and Prof. Heilman (Torts).

ALL CLASSES WILL BE HELD IN CLASSROOM 14 (LIVE) WITH A VIDEO FEED INTO CLASSROOM 12. Seats are on a first-come, first served basis. Generally, there will be a replay of Sunday sessions on the following Saturday at 10 a.m. in Classroom 14.

THE BAR/BRI FULL OUTLINES (A TWO-BOOK SET) WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM THE FACULTY SECRETARIES OFFICE BEGINNING NEXT WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, AT 10:00 A.M.

To obtain the outlines, you must have signed up on the sign-up list, and you must have the Faculty Secretaries check your name off on the list.

For September 11 and 12, please do the following: BRIEFLY SKIM the MBE outlines so remind yourselves just a bit about the subject matter on the Mock Bar Exam, but it need not be in much depth. However, to prepare yourself for Prof. Heilman's Torts lecture, please give a careful reading to the Torts outline.

If you have any questions, please call Prof. Mainero at extension 230.
