Reciprocity Policy
Career Services
Office facilities and resources are available to any students
and graduates of ABA accredited law schools which will provide
reciprocal services to students and graduates of Whittier
Law School.
Reciprocity is
offered throughout the year with no limitations during the
fall recruiting season. Reciprocity is available for six months
only.
Whittier Law
School, although in Orange County, California, is located
near Los Angeles and San Diego counties. Reciprocity is therefore
limited to one school in this Southern California area. Law
school career services offices must limit their requests.
No reciprocity
is granted to students/alumni of Orange County or Los Angeles
County law schools. Reciprocity to San Diego schools is offered
on a limited basis.
Requests for
reciprocity should be made in writing by the requesting school
prior to any visit. The Whittier Career Services Office will
reply by fax to the requesting school. We will not contact
the reciprocity recipient.
Reciprocity services
granted to graduates include access to current job listings,
reference materials, publications, monthly position bulletins,
seminars/panel discussions, limited career counseling and
the computer in the Career Services library.
Reciprocity services
granted to students include access to law clerk listings,
reference materials, publications, and limited career counseling.
Students and
graduates of other schools are not permitted to schedule on-campus
interviews or participate in resume referral services.
Services may
be denied any individual school which surpasses a reasonable
number of requests within a given year or which makes multiple
requests for reciprocity in Southern California and/or to
any individual who abuses the reciprocity privilege.
